Tyler, Texas- The Women's Tennis Team loses 7-0 to #2 West Florida in Tyler, TX this weekend in their 2nd straight top-25 ranked match up. The Argonaut's secured the doubles point by defeating the Aggies #2 doubles team of
Nil Kalkavan and
Alexa Garcia 6-1 and #3 doubles team
Alexa Lugo and
Isabella Quintero 6-3. Cameron's #1 doubles duo of
Jenna Goessel and
Adel Ismagulova nearly pulled off a win against the #5 ranked doubles team Verdu and Recuenco falling 8-6 in the tiebreaker to lose the set 7-6.
In singles play, West Florida secured the victory with wins over #1 singles,
Jenna Goessel, #3 singles,
Alexa Garcia, and #4 singles
Isabella Quintero do decide the final outcome of the match just moments before #2 singles
Adel Ismagulova went to a third set with her opponent. With the match decided Ismagulova's match was determined by a match tiebreak to 10 points in lieu of a full 3rd set with the Aggies #2 falling 0-6, 7-5, 11-9.
The Aggies will conclude their weekend on Sunday, March 1st with a 10:00 AM matchup against #3 ranked West Alabama before returning home.
