Lawton, Okla. - Cameron Women's tennis defeated Western New Mexico University in a Lone Star Conference match up on Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex.
In doubles play, No. 31-ranked
Jenna Goessel and
Nil Kalkavan captured the first court, winning 6-1 on the No. 1 court.
Alexa Garcia and
Daniela Maldonado clinched the doubles point for the Aggies with a 6-1 victory on the No. 3 court. On the No. 2 court,
Adel Ismagulova and
Isabella Quintero were up 4-2 before the match went unfinished.
In singles play, Cameron also captured the first singles court, with No. 74-ranked
Jenna Goessel winning 6-1, 6-0 on the No. 1 court.
Isabella Quintero earned a straight-set victory on the No. 3 court to put the Aggies up 3-0 in the match. WNMU's Josefina Bailetti defeated
Adel Ismagulova in straight sets on the No. 2 court. The Mustangs picked up another win after Eva Guta won 7-6, 6-2 over
Nil Kalkavan to make the match 3-2.
Daniela Maldonado clinched match point for Cameron after earning a 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 5 court.
Alexa Lugo was up 7-5, 2-0 against WMNU's Sofija Krstic before the match went unfinished.
