Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Cameron University Volleyball team opened the 2026 season Friday morning with a three-set loss to Henderson State University at the Bettye Wallace Classic. Cameron battled throughout the match but fell 3-0 to Henderson State; 25-19, 25-21, 25-18.
The Aggies stayed within striking distance in the opening set before Henderson State pulled away for a 25-19 win. Cameron came out strong in the second set, jumping out to an early 3-0 advantage. The Reddies responded and eventually took control, but the Aggies continued to battle late, cutting the deficit to three before Henderson State closed out the set 25-21. In the third, Cameron fought back from an early deficit and pulled within one at 17-16, but the Reddies finished strong to take the set 25-18 and win the match.

Key Performers
Maria Osorio led the Cameron offense with 10 kills while adding three total blocks, including two solo blocks.
Caitlyn Cornell recorded seven kills on 21 attacks with just two errors for a team-best .238 hitting percentage among Aggies with at least 20 attempts. She also added a block assist.
Anastasija Andelic finished with seven kills, a team-high 11 digs and two service aces.
Sydney Walker paced the Aggies with 16 assists while adding eight digs and a service ace.
Addison McClure contributed a team-high 14 digs to go along with an assist.

The Aggies battled the Lions throughout the match but fell 3-0 to University of Arkansas-Fort Smith; 25-20, 25-23, 25-14.
Cameron battled back after falling behind early in the opening set, cutting the UAFS lead to three at 20-17 before the Lions held on for a 25-20 win. The second set was the closest of the match, featuring seven ties and two lead changes. The Aggies erased a late 20-17 deficit and tied the set at 23-23 on a kill from Maria Osorio, but UAFS scored the final two points to take the set 25-23. Cameron opened the third set with a 3-0 run before the Lions answered and eventually pulled away to close out the match 25-14.
Key Performers
Maria Osorio led the Cameron offense for the second straight match with 10 kills while hitting .233. She also added two total blocks.
Sydney Walker recorded a team-high 18 assists while adding 11 digs and a service ace.
Madison Waiki led the Aggies defensively with 15 digs while adding three kills and two solo blocks.
Emily Jaramillo finished with 14 digs.
