SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Cameron University Volleyball team battled Angelo State University to five sets Saturday afternoon inside the Junell Center/Stephens Arena. After dropping the first two sets, the Aggies responded with back-to-back victories before falling in the decisive fifth frame, 25-13, 25-20, 19-25, 18-25, 15-8. Angelo State controlled the opening set, 25-13, before Cameron responded with a stronger effort in the second. The Aggies took an early 4-1 lead behind consecutive kills from Presleigh Roest and Lillian Carollo, along with a service ace from Anastasija Andelic, but the Rambelles rallied to take the frame, 25-20.Cameron answered in the third, opening with four straight points behind the serve of Mavery Salisbury. The Aggies built a 20-12 advantage and held off a late Angelo State push to take the set, 25-19. Cameron carried the momentum into the fourth, jumping ahead 5-1 and leading throughout the frame. Caitlyn Cornell delivered the final kill to secure a 25-18 victory and force a fifth set.The deciding frame was tied four times through 7-7 before Angelo State pulled ahead, 10-7. Cameron cut the deficit to 10-8, but the Rambelles scored the final five points to close out the match, 15-8.

Key Performers
Caitlyn Cornell led the Cameron attack with a team-high 11 kills on 19 attempts with just two errors, posting a team-best .474 hitting percentage. She also added a block assist to finish with 11.5 points.
Lillian Carollo finished with eight kills while adding two block assists and two digs.
Anastasija Andelic contributed seven kills, two service aces, 14 digs and a block assist, finishing with 9.5 points.
Taylor Silva added seven kills, nine digs, a service ace and a block assist.
Presleigh Roest recorded six kills on 17 attempts while leading Cameron at the net with one solo block and three block assists.
Luana Lombardi finished with five kills on 15 attempts with just one error for a .267 hitting percentage while adding two solo blocks.
Mavery Salisbury directed the Aggie offense with a team-high 20 assists while recording 10 digs and two service aces for a double-double.
Leticia Costa added 12 assists and 14 digs, while Addison McClure anchored the Cameron defense with a team-high 17 digs and four assists.
