Biography

2015 (Freshman): In his first collegiate race, he ran a time of 28:38 placing 5th at the Aggie Duals (9/5). At the Midwestern State Mustang Stampede (9/10), he placed 33rd with a time of 21:40.7. Ran a time of 23:05.82 placing 13th at the Hardin-Simmons Cowboy Classic (9/18). Placed 37th at the LSC Championship with a time of 28:07.9.

High School: Ran personal best times of 10:06.53 (3200) and 16:45 in the 5000 at Pearland HS.

Coach Johnson on Akins: "Austin is a good recruit for us who should compete for a spot in the top seven.  He was the best runner at this high school so having a group of runners to push him every day should help him improve."
