Kyle Williams enters his sixth season as the Head Coach of the Cameron Baseball program. During his first season at the helm Cameron competed in the newly expanded Lonestar Conference that boasted 13 teams, having at least 6 different teams ranked in the top 25 nationally every year since. This was also the year COVID affected the entire college baseball recruiting landscape. Navigating not being able to recruit off campus for the first 2 years of a new coaching staff provided difficulties for a program in need of a rebuild. There have been many bright spots as the rebuilding process continues including never finishing outside the top 50% of the league in XBH. Williams took over an offense in 2019 as the assistant
that finished last in the LSC in runs scored and XBH in 2018 and improved to 4th in the LSC in runs scored and 3rd in XBH. The pitching staff inherited in 2020 finished last in strikeouts recorded, while since they have ranked no lower than 10th. It has been 11 years (2012) since the Aggies ranked outside the bottom 3 defensively in the conference, and the 2023 team finished with the 3rd fewest errors of any LSC team. The 2024 season saw the Aggies reach a new high win total of 17 games including 16 in the LSC, a program high since 2016. Cameron led the conference in HR and finished 4th in Total Bases. The pitching staff lowered their ERA by 2 full runs while increasing their strikeouts and decreasing the walk totals.11 losses of 3 runs or less kepth the Aggies out of the playoffs but another step was taken in the progression of the program. Away from the field, Cameron Baseball has completed over 350 hours of community service hours every year that Williams has led the program. He has also seen 46 Aggies walk across the stage and receive their degree in 4 years. No senior that spent more than 1 year at Cameron has left without a degree since Williams took over.
