Aggies Drop Tough Match On The Road

Lawton, Okla. (Oct. 13, 2011) ¬¬ Cameron’s Volleyball Team lost in three sets to Texas Woman’s University Thursday, 25-22, 26-24 and 27-25, dropping to 10-9 overall and 4-7 in conference.

“We played hard, especially once we had our backs to the wall,” said Head Coach Doug Tabbert.” We just did enough things to make it difficult. There were not a lot of mistakes, but its stuff that shouldn’t happen this time of year.”

Senior Adrienne Lawson and Freshman Kelle Carver led Cameron offensively, with 13 and 14 kills respectively, but it was the defense that Tabbert said kept his team in the match tonight.

“Julisa (Ocasio) made a lot of plays, but we expect that,” he said. “Mariah (Westlake) was also solid. She played very well on the back line.”

The Aggies will next travel Commerce, Texas to take on Texas A&M-Commerce (7-11, 3-8).
