SHAWNEE, Okla. – The Cameron Aggies tennis squads took a midweek trip to Oklahoma Baptist and came away with a perfect sweep across the board on Wednesday.
Both Aggie tennis squads secured 9-0 victories and, as a whole, lost just two sets along the way.
On the men’s side
Santiago Romero and
Patrick Eichler secured an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles while
Duje Janjic and
Mateus Campos took No. 2 at 8-3.
To complete the sweep,
Manuel Barroetavena and
Nicolas Clerc won 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles play, Eichler, Romero, and Barroetavena won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Janjic, Clerc, and
Jorge Gerosi were at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6.
On the women’s side, Amanda Moberg and Julia Puckhaber won easily at No. 1 doubles at 8-4 while Florencio Tornero and Sara London match them at No. 2 with another 8-4 victory.
Antonia Moberg and Elvira Sholles keep it coming at No. 3 with another 8-4 victory.
In singles play, Amanda Moberg swept at No. 1 while Puckhaber needed a tiebreaker to earn her point at No. 2.
Londono, Sholles, Tornero, and Antonia Moberg all won in straights sets at No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
The Aggies return to the courts tomorrow with a road trip to Dallas to take on Dallas Baptist.
