LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron women’s tennis team earned its second 9-0 victory of the season on Tuesday after taking out Lone Star Conference foe East Central.
The women kicked the day off with an outstanding showing in doubles play.
The No. 2 doubles pair of Sara Londono and Florencia Tornero secured the first win of the afternoon, topping their counterparts 8-0. Wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions quickly followed with Amanda Moberg and Julia Puckhaber claiming an 8-3 victory at the top spot, while the No. 3 duo of Antonia Moberg and Elvira Sholles picked up an 8-1 win.
Antonia Moberg carried her momentum into her singles match and left no doubt she was the superior player after double bageling her opponent at the No. 6 position.
Puckhaber and Sholles had impressive performances at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots, winning 6-3, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively.
The Aggies also picked up straight sets victories at the No. 1, No. 3 and No. 5 positions.
The women will next take to the courts at 1 p.m. on March 10 when they face West Alabama in Livingston, Ala.
