The No. 18 Cameron women’s tennis team defeated the St. Mary’s Rattlers in imposing fashion on Thursday, recording an 8-0 victory and improving their record to 11-4.
The women got off to a great start by taking all three doubles matches.
Elvira Sholles and Antonia Moberg were the first pair to secure a win. The duo shut out their opposition in an 8-0 decision at No. 3. The Aggies took the matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions 8-4 and 8-3, respectively.
CU was virtually unstoppable in singles play, as Julia Puckhaber, Sara Londono and Florencia Tornero all double bageled their counterparts at the No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 spots.
Antonia Moberg made quick work of her opponent at the No. 4 slot, earning a 6-0, 6-3 victory.
No. 27 Amanda Moberg also picked up an impressive win at the No. 1 position. The Aggie sophomore dismissed her opponent 6-1, 6-0.
The match at the No. 3 spot was left unfinished after CU’s Sholles took the first set 6-3.
The women will be back on the court at 9 a.m. tomorrow when they face off against Oklahoma Christian on CU’s home courts.
