LAWTON – The Cameron University tennis teams were scheduled to battle against the University of Arkansas-Ft. Smith today at the Streich-Henry Family Tennis Complex. The squads were interrupted several times by rain delays, which eventually prevented the teams from finishing the match.
The No. 22 men’s team was up 4-0 and on the edge of clinching the 5-0 victory, as Duje Janjic was up a set and 4-0 when play was suspended. Despite dropping the doubles contests, the No. 20 Aggie women were about to go up 4-2 when the Lions decided they had had enough rain and packed up their bus to go home.
The CU women presently boast a 21-3 record, while the men are 15-8. The men will be in action again on Monday at 2 p.m. when they compete against Seminole State College in Oklahoma City. The women will not see the courts again until the Lone Star Conference Tournament begins on April 20 in Southlake, Texas.
