DUNCAN, Okla.-- The Cameron University men's golf team battled emotions and the wind to finish in a tie for fourth shooting a 301 today at the Territory Classic in Duncan moving up three spots from their seventh place finish on Monday afternoon.
Their play on Tuesday afternoon was a four stroke improvement in gusty south winds that affected all the competing teams.
"We got started really well today, and kept it under par for a while," said Head Coach Jerry Hrnciar. "The weather conditions made it very difficult to hang on to anything. It was just a matter of keeping it in play and we did a good job of that most of the day and came really close to winning."
After a slow start on day one the team wanted to see day two end in better Aggie fashion.
"They felt bad about how they played yesterday and they weren't happy," said Hrnciar. "They wanted to do what they could to atone for starting slow and they did a good job today, because today was trying. All the teams struggled today, but I was very pleased with our effort."
