LAWTON, Okla. –The Cameron University volleyball team will host the #7 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. for their annual "Think Pink" match to help support the fight against breast cancer.

After coming off a weekend were the Aggies got stellar play out of several players, but ended up with two hard fought losses, Cameron (6-17) will face one of their toughest tests this season, as West Texas A&M (20-3) is ranked #7 in the latest American Volleyball Club Association poll. The Lady Buffs are currently riding a 14 match win streak that goes back to when they got beat by Florida Southern back on Sep. 14.
In the overall series, West Texas has handled Cameron with a 2-30 record. Earlier this season when the Aggies visited WT, Cameron put up a good fight in all three sets of the match.
Kelle Carver led CU with 11 kills, while
Kayla Hebert had 29 assists and
Erin Hardy had 18 digs. WT was led by Halie Harton with 11 kills, Kameryn Hayes with 30 assists, and Lauren Britten with 14 digs. Additionally, Laura Iwuchukwu had 6 total blocks in the match.
WT leads the Lone Star Conference in hitting percentage (.236) and blocks per set (2.94), and Iwuchukwu leads all LSC players in blocks per set with 1.64.
For CU, Carver has been on a tear recently, having a total of 50 kills and a hitting percentage of .369 over the last two matches, and leading the LSC with 3.81 kills per set.
In an effort to support finding a cure for breast cancer, the Aggie Athletic Department will be selling "Think Pink" shirts for five dollars at the match. All proceeds will go to breast cancer research.
