SILVER CITY, N.M. – The #12 ranked Cameron University women’s tennis continued their stellar season getting an 8-1 win over Western New Mexico on Saturday afternoon.Â
Cameron got a sweep in doubles 3-0 with the pairing of Amanda Moberg / Julia Puckhaber getting an 8-3 win in the one slot. Elvira Sholles and Florencia Tornero earned a tough fought 8-5 win in two doubles, while Antonia Moberg and Laura Winter got an 8-3 win in three doubles.
In singles, Puckhaber dominated the two slot sweeping her match 6-0, 6-0. Sholles won in three singles 6-3, 6-0, Tornero was victorious in three singles, 6-0, 6-3. Antonia Moberg in five singles won set one 6-3 and needed a tiebreaker in set two win 7-6 (7-3), and Winter in six singles came from behind to win 2-6, 6-3, 10-2. Amanda Moberg was the lone Aggie to fall in one singles, 6-4, 5-7, 10-8.
Cameron moves to an overall record of 8-1, they will return to action on March 17 at Arizona Christian University.
