LAWTON, Okla. – Despite having a 2-1 lead after their doubles matches the Cameron women’s tennis team couldn’t hold onto a late charge by Midwestern State falling 5-4 on Thursday afternoon.Â
Cameron (12-3, 0-2 LSC) has opened the Lone Star Conference season with back-to-back losses from Tarleton earlier this month and now Midwestern.Â
The Aggies started off on the right foot getting wins from Amanda Moberg and Julia Puckhaber in one doubles in dominating fashion, 8-0. While the pairing of Antonia Moberg and Elvira Sholles earned a 8-6 victory in the three slot.Â
In the top half of Cameron’s lineup, they got wins from Amanda Moberg in one singles, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0 and Puckhaber in the two slot, 6-2, 6-1. However, the Ags would fall in three, four, five, and six singles in stunning fashion to drop their third match of the year.
Cameron will have chance to bounce back hosting Texas A&M Kingsville on April 1 at 1 p.m.
