Women’s tennis gets 8-1 win over Roadrunners

DENVER, Colo. – The women's tennis team got off to a great start in Colorado with an 8-1 win over Metro State on Friday morning.

The pairing of Amanda Moberg and Julia Puckhaber led the Aggies in doubles with an 8-2 win over their opponents as Elvira Sholles and Florencia Tornero followed with 8-3 in slot two.

The women swept the singles matches with Amanda Moberg taking a (6-4, 6-4) win against Cara Cromwell. Puckhaber won her match (6-1, 6-0) and Sholles continued the excellent play (6-2, 6-0). Tornero and Amanda Moberg both fought a tough match and won after three games, Tornero scoring (6-4, 6-7, 7-6) and Moberg (3-6, 6-2, 10-5). Laura Winter won (6-2, 6-3) in six singles.

With a 6-1 record, the Aggies prepare to go against Mesa State on Mar. 10 at Grand Junction, Colo.
