Live StatsAround the LSC: Friday night will feature two other Lone Star Conference contests with Midwestern State visiting Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Kingsville at Eastern New Mexico. On Saturday, MSU will face Angelo State, Texas Women's will see Texas A&M-Commerce, and Texas A&M-Kingsville will travel to West Texas A&M.
Looking back: Cameron split a LSC weekend at home with West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico. The Aggies started off hot, taking set one from the Lady Buffs, but then fell in the next three sets. Against the Zias, CU dropped set one, but took sets two, three, four to secure the win.
Kendra Adams led the team with 22 kills during the two match span, with
Rebecca Green adding 21 and
Kat Evans chipping in 19.
Ingrid Boatman led the team with 41 assists, while
Kayla Hebert averaged a double-double with 40 assists and 33 digs. Additionally,
Cristina Viera had 37 digs and freshman libero
Lindsey McCauley had 23 during the team's weekend split.
Looking forward:Tarleton State and Angelo State sit at three and four in the Lone Star Conference standings. The Aggies lost to both teams earlier this season in their first two conference matches of the year. The Rambelles swept Cameron 25-23, 25-17, and 25-22 on Sept. 12 hitting .222 and holding the Aggies to just a .079 attack percentage. CU came back the next day and gave Tarleton State everything they had, but TSU outlasted the Aggies 25-20, 14-25, 25-14, 25-23, and 16-14 in the five set thriller. Both teams had 11 blocks and hit under .200. Angelo State is first in the LSC in kills, assists and digs per set, and averages two digs more then the Aggies. The TexAnns are second in the LSC with 2.47 blocks per game and hold opponents to just a .132 hitting percentage.
Outside help: Kendra Adams recorded double-figure kills in each of Cameron's three matches last week. On Friday night against West Texas she knocked down a career high 19 kills, and hit .234 against WT. On Tuesday in a three set sweep at East Central, Adams had 10 kills and on Saturday she racked up 13 in a 3-1 win at home against Eastern New Mexico. Adams in three matches hit .248, averaged 3.82 kills per set, and added a pair of blocks. Since entering the CU starting lineup, the Aggies are 5-3 and Adams has had 89 kills, with a .241 attack percentage.
On the horizon:Cameron will remain on the road on Oct. 21 to face Eastern New Mexico at 8 p.m in a LSC contest.
