Women's tennis moves to 9-0 after beating Southern Nazarene

BETHANY, Okla. --  The Cameron University women's tennis team will start Lone Star Conference play with a perfect 9-0 record after taking down Southern Nazarene 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

With league play starting on Sunday at Texas A&M Kingsville the Aggies are off to their best start in the last four seasons.

Against the Crimson Storm the Ags nearly pulled of a doubles sweep but  Paula Gutierrez-Casas and Florencia Tornero would fall at the one slot in a tiebreaker 9-8(5).  Magdalena Kovinic and Antonia Moberg in the three slot pulled off a sweep, 8-0, against the SNU counterparts.

In singles, Cameron's only blemish came in the one slot but they would take slots two through six for the 7-2 match win.  Moberg and Tornero earned 6-0, 6-0 sweeps for the Ags; Samantha Wood (9-0) remained undefeated in singles competition after a 6-0, 7-5 win in the three slot.

Cameron's trip to Kingsville on Sunday will be their first since the 2012 season.
