Aggie tennis faces full week of action

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron University men's and women's tennis teams face a full week of action this week with matches against Southeastern Oklahoma State, McMurry, Bethany College, and Newman all at home.

The week will start out with both teams welcoming Southeastern Oklahoma State to Lawton on Tuesday, April 8 for a pair of matches starting at 2 p.m. Action will continue on Thursday, April 10 with matches against McMurry starting at 2 p.m. Cameron will finish up the week with the women taking on Newman at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12 and the men hosting Bethany College, also at 11 a.m.

Ranked #49 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings, the Aggie women are 13-4 heading into this week long stretch. They are coming off of a 7-2 loss to in-region foe St. Mary's on April 4. The Cameron women, who are currently fourth in the South Central Region, will compete in a region match on Saturday, taking on the sixth ranked team in the region, Newman.

After having over a week off from action, the #17 Cameron men enter the week with a 13-6 overall record. In their last contest, the Aggies fell at home 5-0 against #22 BYU-Hawaii. CU has two male players ranked in the top-50 in the nation and a doubles pairing ranked in the top-25. Additionally, the Aggie men are ranked first in the south central region.

Both teams will come right back to action next week as the CU women travel to Midwestern State on Monday, April 14, and the Aggie men face Seminole State in Norman, Okla. on Tuesday, April 15.
