Looking back: The Aggies fell in a five set heartbreaker to Texas Woman's (25-22, 14-25, 19-25, 25-15, 7-15) on Nov. 6. Cameron and TWU recorded nearly identical numbers overall after the Pioneers notched one more kill over the Aggies' total with 62, meanwhile, CU logged 100 digs versus TWU's 99 digs. TWU ended the match with the better attacking percentage, hitting a .222 compared to the Ags' .200 hitting clip.

The Aggies battled back to defeat Texas A&M-Commerce (24-26, 25-19, 26-24, 25-22) the following day on Nov. 7. Overall, Cameron recorded 60 kills, 89 digs, 9 blocks, and a .233 attacking percentage, while Commerce registered 59 kills, 58 digs, 9 blocks, and a .188 hitting clip.

Setting the stage: Tarleton State and Angelo State sit at one and two in the Lone Star Conference standings. The Aggies lost to both teams on the road earlier this season. Angelo State holds a 12-28 overall record against the Aggies with Cameron's last home win versus the Rambelles coming from the 2004 season where the Aggies are 4-11 in Lawton. Against Tarleton, Cameron controls the overall series 24-15 while holding a 14-7 record in the Aggie Gym. Cameron has dropped their last 12 matches to the TexAnns with their last home victory dating back to 2006 when the Aggies swept TSU in straight sets.

Regionally Ranked: The Aggies climbed up into the top-8 in the South Central Region with the release of the second of three postseason polls on Wednesday afternoon. The regional poll is comprised of teams from the Heartland, Lone Star and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conferences with three slots reserved for a league tournament champion, while the other five spots are at-large bids. Cameron has qualified for the NCAA National Tournament twice in program history in 1998 and 2001; prior to this season Cameron has not appeared in the regional poll since 2006. LSC schools Angelo State and Tarleton State are one and two in the poll.

About Angelo State: Â Angelo State is currently riding a seven game winning streak with a 26-5 season record and 12-2 conference record. Angelo State also leads the league in average assists per set (13.75), kills per set (14.56), and digs per set (19.15).While undefeated at home, the Rambelles are 10-3 on the road. ASU swept the Aggies in their last matchup on Oct. 10 by coming away with the better hitting percentage on the match with .324, while holding CU to a .141 hitting clip. Sophomore Brianna Sotello leads the Rambelles in kills with 406 on the season.

About Tarleton State: The TexAnns have won four out of their last six games, falling to non-conference opponents Lubbock Christian and Newman. Tarleton State is 23-5 overall and 13-1 in league play with Angelo State being their only conference loss. The TexAnns are also undefeated at home and have only dropped three out of ten matches on the road. TSU leads the league in average hitting percentages (.229) and blocks per set (2.57). Hailey Roberts leads the nation in kills per set, averaging 5.85 in addition to scoring an average of 6.74 points per set.
The rest of the league: Texas Woman's will travel to Texas A&M Commerce on Friday to close out the regular season while Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M make the road trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville. Meanwhile, Midwestern State will play Cameron's weekend schedule in reverse.

Kat Evans is the lone senior on the Aggie squad and is one of nine CU volleyball players to surpass 1,000 kills. The Pearland, Texas native has played in 115 matches and has 1,297 kills, which is fourth highest all-time at Cameron.
