Aggies drop doubleheader at Southeastern

WEATHERFORD – Cameron hitters had a difficult time figuring out Southeastern Oklahoma pitching after being two-hit in both games.  The Aggies would get run-ruled 12-1 in seven innings in game one and fell 4-3 in part two of the doubleheader in Weatherford.

Tyler Cook accounted for half of CU's hits on Saturday, with both Cody Knight and Codey Upton having a hit and RBI.  While CU pitching allowed nine earned runs with seven other hitters plating runs off of seven Aggie defensive errors.

In game one, the Savage Storm recorded a run in every inning but the fourth, while having five runs scoring in the second, and four additional runs plated in the sixth.  Cameron didn't to themselves many favors with six errors in the run-ruled contest.   Dirk Masters (0-1) was charged with the loss after giving up seven runs (five earned) in 2 2/3 innings of work, he would punch out five SOSU batters though.   Bryan Belote tossed the final 3 1/3 innings with five runs given up (two earned) and he would strike out four.

The night cap was more closely played but Southeastern Oklahoma jumped ahead early with a run scoring in the home frames of the first and second; they would add one more on CU starter Javarias Banks in the fourth.  However, the Aggies would get Banks off the hook for the loss after opening the fifth with a hit by pitch and a walk.  Tyler Palmer would score off of an error for CU's first run and Upton later doubled to left center to score Dyce Applegate; later a Upton scored the tying run off SE's third error of the inning.   But the tie wouldn't last long though and Southeastern plated the go-ahead winning run off a double to left field in the bottom half of the inning.

Jordan Dailey (0-1) would be charged with the loss with one run scoring in an inning of work, Banks went four innings with three runs given up (two earned).

Cameron (1-3) will return to McCord Field to open a four game series on Friday with Northwest Missouri State.
