Nolan Withrow went seven solid inning and a four RBI afternoon from
Justin Winters guided Cameron a 6-3 win over Tarleton State on Sunday. Â
After dropping the first two games by a run, the Aggies took the final two contests to split the away series at TSU.
Winters took a RBI the hard way in the first off a hit by pitch and blasted a three run homer in the third which was more than enough offense for Withrow. The freshman in his second start used 107 pitches to just allow the Texans to six hits and one earned run for his first career win; Withrow would also strikeout seven batters and allowed no walks.
Cameron's other runs came in the fourth off an error from Tarleton State and a solo homer in the sixth from
Tyler West.Â
Deven Youngstedt also came in out of the bullpen and recorded the final six outs.
The Aggies tallied 11 hits with
Terrell Evans and
Tyler Palmer both having two,
Matt Nilmeyer scored two runs.
In the four game series at Tarleton State,
Justin Winters batted .417 and had a pair of doubles, with the homer on Sunday afternoon; he would also score three runs and have five RBI.
With the win, Cameron will move to 9-13 overall and 3-8 in the Lone Star Conference, Tarleton State will go to 9-8 overall and 3-4 in LSC play.
Cameron will be off until Friday at 6 p.m. where they will open a four game series at Eastern New Mexico.
