SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The 19th ranked Cameron men's tennis team lost 6-3 to the 11th ranked Drury Panthers Monday afternoon on the road. The Aggies are now 6-4 on the young season while Drury is now 10-1.
Cameron fell behind early in the doubles matches, as the one doubles team of
Dennis Merdan and
Joao Fazendeiro fell 8-2. The two doubles team of
Felipe Oyarzun and
Mateo Velasco won their match 8-6, while the three pairing of
Florian Kartner and
Andres Velasco lost 8-6.
Fazendeiro and
Angelo Lencioni were the only players to get wins for CU in singles, with Fazendeiro winning 6-3, 6-2 in the two spot and Lencioni winning 6-1, 6-1 in the three spot.
The Aggie men will be right back at it Tuesday at 1 p.m., as they take on Southwest Baptist in a neutral site game in Springfield.
