BOLIVAR, Mo. – For the second day in a row the #31 Cameron women faced a nationally ranked opponent but the Aggies came out on the losing end in a tough 5-4 match at #19 Southwest Baptist.
Just one day ago, the Aggies fell to #20 Drury and despite winning two matches by default, and reaching a clinching point once, the Aggies would fall to 5-3 for the season.
The Bearcats left their three doubles slot open for the Aggies to take but CU would fall in both the other two slots to SBU.
In singles play, the six slot was won by default by CU and they would get wins from
Eugenia Sanchez and
Magdalena Kovinic and only needed one more singles win to clinch.
Angie Torres provided CU's
best shot and reached match point once but she would fall 4-6, 7-6, 7-5.
Cameron will remain on the road to face Harding on Thursday at 10 a.m.
