LAWTON -- The Aggies couldn't close a 2-1 gap out of doubles play and were stunned by Northwest Missouri State 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
#31 Cameron who opened the season with four straight wins have dropped the four of their last six matches and are now 6-4 overall.
The unranked Bearcats nearly took all three double slots but
Samantha Wood and
Dejana Veljic won a 9-8 (4) tiebreaker to win the number-3 slot.
Singles play proved to keep match closer with wins in the one, three, and four slots. However, the Aggies couldn't get close on a fourth singles win to edge the visiting Bearcats.Â
Paula Gutierrez took the top singles slot, 6-3, 6-4, Wood won in the three slot, 6-2, 6-2, and
Magdalena Kovinic came from behind to win in three set, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Cameron will play their three regional matches in Colorado in the coming days starting with Metropolitan State of Denver on Friday, March 27.
