DENVER – Cameron earned a road win on Friday after besting MSU-Denver for an in-region 6-3 victory.
The number-35 Aggies who have hit a rough stretch in the last two weeks figured out how to get back on track with a two point advantage heading out of doubles. Cameron's top pairing (
Paula Gutierrez and
Eugenia Sanchez) won 8-4 and in the number-3 slot
Samantha Wood /
Dejana Veljic won 8-3.
Much like the men's match that happened on Friday, it was the middle of the Aggie lineup getting the job done. CU would have to battle though, Wood rallied back from a 4-6 loss it set one to win set two in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-2) before winning final set 6-2.
Magdalena Kovinic edged out a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win in the four slot and helped the Aggies move to 7-4 this season.
With the loss to Cameron, MSU-Denver will go to 2-8.
Cameron will remain in Colorado and face Colo. Mesa in Grand Junction on Sunday.
