LAWTON – Cameron ended their Lone Star Conference season with a 7-2 loss to Midwestern State in Lawton on Wednesday afternoon.Â

The Aggies who remained in fourth in the latest NCAA Regional Ranking that released while CU was playing the Mustangs who were second in the region.

In doubles play, Cameron faltered early with Midwestern State sweeping all three slots.Â
Samantha Wood and
Magdalena Kovinic were caught up in the losing end of a 9-8(4) tiebreaker, while the other slots would fall 8-2 and 8-0.

Cameron wouldn't be able to put together much of a comeback in singles play with the Mustangs coming away with a straight sweep in the four and five singles slot.Â
Paula Gutierrez would handle her MSU counterpart in the top slot 6-3, 6-0 and Wood earned a 6-4, 7-5 win in the number-3 slot as CU's lone wins.

With the loss the Aggies will fall to 12-7 overall and 1-2 in LSC play and Mustangs will win the LSC regular season title with a 3-0 record and they will be go 15-6 overall.

The Aggies will remain at home to face UT-Permian Basin on April 17 at 9:30 a.m.
