LAWTON – The Aggie women came three games short of a match victory over Texas-Permian Basin but the skies would open up with rain and the contest would go unfinished with CU leading 4-2.
Cameron would struggle out of the gates with
Paula Gutierrez/
Angie Torres coming up with a the team's lone doubles win, 8-2.
With the need to rally back and beat the weather, Gutierrez and Torres in singles play quickly gave the Aggies wins in the top two slots.
Samantha Wood dominated the three-slot 6-1, 6-0 to leave it to the second half of the CU lineup to get the win.
Magdalena Kovinic in the four slot would win the first set 6-2, but she would drop set two 6-3 to force a third. She would be leading 3-1 but the match would be suspended due to the wet courts.
Both of Cameron's five and six slots were still early in the first set before play ended.
The Aggies will return to the court on Saturday, with a 2:00 p.m. match time with UA-Fort Smith.
