LAWTON – The Cameron women's tennis program took their fourth match in row in a razor thin 5-4 victory over St. Edward's on Thursday.Â
With the win the number-35 Aggies will improve to 10-4 overall despite dropping two doubles matches against the Hilltoppers.Â
Angie Torres and
Eugenia Sanchez needed extra games but took a 9-7 win in the three-slot.
In singles, the Aggies top-3 slots all earned wins and Sanchez in the five-slot pushed CU to the finish line for the victory.Â
Samantha Wood came away with a 6-0, 6-3 win in the three-slot,
Paula Gutierrez won in the top-slot 6-3, 6-4, and Torres got a 7-6, 6-1 victory in the two-slot, Sanchez's win came 6-4, 6-2.
The loss to the Aggies puts number-36 SEU to 8-6 overall.
Cameron will host Texas A&M-Kingsville to open Lone Star Conference play on Friday at 10 a.m.
