DALLAS – The Cameron women's tennis team couldn't get going on the road falling 6-3 to Dallas Baptist on Tuesday afternoon.
Cameron's rough start began in doubles after DBU would sweep all three spots; the closest CU would get was in the top-slot with
Angie Torres and
Paula Gutierrez falling 9-7. With the losses on Tuesday, the Aggie pairings are 28-36 overall in doubles play.
With margin of error razor thin for CU they could only drop one singles slot but instead split with the Patriots getting wins in the two, three, and four slots. Torres picked up her seventeenth singles win of the season by a 6-1, 6-4 score, and
Samantha Wood moved to 19-3 overall in singles with a 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory in the three-slot.
Magdalena Kovinic came from behind in the four-slot moving to 15-7 overall by going 0-6, 6-0, 6-4.
With the loss the Aggies will fall to 11-7 overall and the Patriots will improve to 12-2.
Cameron will return to Lone Star Conference play on Friday where they will travel to Tarleton State.
