LAWTON – The Cameron men's tennis team will need to take a different route to the NCAA National Championships in Arizona starting a semifinal match with number-45 Newman on Saturday. 

Pre Match Report

Cameron (14-8) moved up one to number-29 in the ITA National Poll will play the Jets as a four vs. five seed semifinal duel to play top seeded Midwestern State this Sunday afternoon.  In the previous two seasons, CU has hosted and advanced to the nationals.  

The Jets went 17-10 this season and 3-2 in the Heartland Conference and reached their league championship match before falling to St. Edward's, 5-3.   Both Cameron and Newman met earlier in Wichita, Kan. with the Aggies winning 6-3.

Should Cameron beat the Jets they will play Midwestern State in their home courts.  The Aggie and Mustangs are not unfamiliar with each other; Cameron's last scheduled match was a 6-3 loss to MSU on April 20, here in Lawton.
