OKLAHOMA CITY – Cameron earned their first win of the season over Cowley College 8-1 in their lone dual match of the fall in Oklahoma City on Tuesday afternoon.
The #19 Aggies faced some early challenges in doubles they would take a 3-0 lead into singles action.  Both the top two doubles pairings would best the Tigers 8-6 with
Joao Fazendeiro and
Daniel Ferl winning the number-3 slot by a wide 8-2 margin.Â
Cameron hit some early bumps in the road in singles play with their three through five slots all dropping the first set. However, they all would recover in winning.Â
Felipe Oyarzun narrowly won 7-6 in the first set in the number-2 slot but he would sweep set two for the win.Â
Daniel Ferl in his first match for the Aggies won in the number-6 slot 6-3, 6-1 for his first career singles win.Â
Cameron's lone loss of the day came at the top singles slot with
Dennis Merdan falling short to Cowley's Vincent Reynaud 7-5, 7-6 (7-5).
The Aggies will move to individual play starting with a trip to Midwestern State starting on Friday for a regional tournament.Â
