Aggies wrap up non-conference slate with Southern Nazarene

Looking back:  Cameron continued their hot start to the season with a four set win in their home opener against Midwestern State on Tuesday night to move to 10-0 overall and 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play.   Senior Kat Evans paced the Aggie offense with 14 kills and a .462 hitting clip, while freshman Jordan Williams added 13 kills and had 10 digs for her third double-double of the year. Junior Ciandra Seabourn contributed 17 digs for the Aggies, and freshman Tori Luckenbill led Cameron in assists with 23.

The Aggies ended the match with 52 kills total and a .211 attacking percentage compared to MSU's 45 kills and .093 attacking percentage. The Mustangs had more digs than the Aggies, 69 to CU's 64, but Cameron averaged more team blocks than MSU, nine over the Mustang's seven.

Setting the stage: The Aggies have faced the Crimson Storm previously this season in Durant with CU taking the match in four sets.  Kat Evans paced CU with 16 kills with Jenna Gillean adding 13, and Kayla Allen netting nine.   As a team, Cameron had a .164 hitting percentage and came up with 93 digs.  This meeting on Saturday will be the 25th with Cameron leading the series 14-10 overall, in Lawton the Aggies are 7-2 and have not lost to the Crimson Storm since 1994.
 
About Southern Nazarene:  Entering Saturday's match, the Crimson Storm have dropped their last four and have been swept in their past three outings.  Most recently on Thursday, SNU played Oklahoma Baptist in GAC play and the Bison hit .230 with 45 kills in Bethany.  The Crimson Storm's primary hitter is McKenna Qualls, a D-I transfer from Oral Roberts and has a team high 151 kills.  As a team, SNU is averaging 11.9 kills per set and a .164 attack percentage, they are holding teams to 12.1 kills and a .179 attack percentage.
 
The rest of the league:  All time LSC schools will be in action on Saturday with three league matches.  West Texas A&M will be at Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico is visiting Tarleton, and Texas A&M-Kingsville is at Texas A&M-Commerce.  Midwestern State is playing a doubleheader at Lubbock Christian and will face the Chaps and Texas Permian Basin; Texas Woman's is hosting East Central.
 
By the numbers:
1 – Kat Evans is the lone senior of the Aggie squad and is one of nine CU volleyball players to surpass 1,000 kills.  The Pearland, Texas native has played in 102 matches and has 1,166 kills, she needs 11 kills to move into seventh all-time at Cameron.
12 –The Aggies are one of 12 remaining schools in the nation that are undefeated.
13 – Youth will be the theme of the 2015 season for the Aggies with 13 freshman on the roster
15 – Cameron's roster consists of players from two states and one international, with 15 out of the 17 hailing from the state of Texas. 
37 – This is the 37th overall season for the Aggie volleyball program which ran from 1972-81, and was reestablished in 1987.
51 – The number of assists Tori Luckenbill had in three sets during a victory against Harding, that number in a national high.
242 – Head Coach Qi Wang's number of wins in 11 seasons.

On the horizon:  Cameron will host Eastern New Mexico on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. in continued LSC action.
