LAWTON -- Cameron cross country alumni, Thomas Toth qualified to represent Canada at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in March after finishing 30th at the Houston Half Marathon.
Toth ran the 13.1 mile course in 1:04:26 making him the ninth fastest Canadian ever at that distance. With a total field at just over 11,000 racers, Toth was the third finishing runner from Canada. By breaking the 66 minute mark in Houston, he is now eligible to represent his country in Cardiff, U.K. If Toth was a U.S. Citizen he would have been eligible to qualify for the U.S. Olympic trials.
Toth ran for the Aggies during the 2013 and 2014 seasons and finished eleventh at the 2014 NCAA National Championship, the program's highest ever finisher at the event. He was also the team's second All-American and was named 2014 Lone Star Conference Male Runner of the Year.
