LAWTON -- The No. 19 Aggies opened their home season with a 8-1 win over Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday. Cameron swept the singles competition 6-0, with only one of three doubles pairings falling to the Bison. The victory moves Cameron to 3-2 on the season.
The number one and two doubles pairings began the afternoon with Felipe Oyarzun and Mateo Velasco dominating their opponents 8-2, and
Dennis Merdan and Vinicius Santos following up with a comfortable 8-5 victory.
Bruno Babic and
Andres Velasco in the number three slot could not break back the Bison and lost 4-8.
In the singles competition, Merdan cruised to a comfortable win in the first slot 6-3, 6-2 clinching two breaks in the last set. Fazendeiro took the first set to seven games but still came away with a two set victory against Romero, 7-5, 6-4. Meanwhile, Santos, Oyarzun, Velasco, and Babic all rounded out two set victories for 6-0 CU men's singles competition.
