PLANO, TX– The No. 19 Cameron men's tennis team handed No. 8 Collin College its first loss this season in a 9-0 sweep on Friday.The win is the Aggies' (2-1) first spring season victory and second in a row over Collin College. Last year, Cameron defeated the Cougars on the road 7-2 bringing the overall series to 2-1.

The Aggies got off to a strong start on the doubles side, winning 3-0. Felipe Oyarzun and Mateo Velasco picked up a 8-1 victory in the one-slot. Meanwhile, Dennis Merdan and Vinicius Santos in the second slot picked up an 8-4 win with third slot Joao Fazendeiro and Daniel Ferl defeating their opponents 8-6.

In singles action, the Aggies kept their momentum and took six matches for the overall victory. Dennis Merdan got an even 6-4, 6-4 win the first slot. In the two and three spot, Fazendeiro, 6-2, 6-7, (6-0), 10-8 and Santos 2-6, 6-4, 10-2 both won in a third set. Oyarzun defeated his opponent 6-3, 6-1 and M. Velasco edged a 7-5 first set victory and turned around for a 6-2 win for the second. Bruno Babic battled in the sixth-slot with a first set score of 6-2 to sweep Collin's Emilio Chavez in the second set 6-0.

The Aggies will remain in Texas to face Division I program UT-Arlington on Saturday.
