SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The back half of the lineup gave the #12 Aggies enough of a boost to edge out a road win at #40 Drury on Thursday afternoon.
Despite CU's dominance in recent years the victory snapped a six game skid to the Panthers dating back to the 1998 NCAA Tennis Championships.
The Aggies picked up two doubles wins with
Felipe Oyarzun and
Vinicius Santos winning the two-slot 8-6, and in the three-slot
Daniel Ferl and
Joao Fazendeiro won 8-3.
In singles play,
Mateo Velasco took the five-slot 6-2, 6-1, and
Bruno Babic won easily in the six-slot, 6-0, 6-2; Fazendeiro clinched the win for the Aggies in the two-slot with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
With the win on Thursday, the Aggies are now 12-3 overall, and the Panthers who are ranked #40 nationally fall to 6-4.
Cameron will return to the courts on Friday to face Northwest Missouri State.
