Aggies twice come from behind to earn sweep over William Jewell

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron baseball team completed their three-game series sweep of William Jewell with two come from behind wins on Saturday at McCord Field.

The Aggies took game one of the doubleheader 5-2 from a Victor DeJesus walk off grand slam and won the nightcap 9-8 following a five run seventh inning rally.

In Saturday's opener, the Cardinals struck first taking a 2-0 lead in the first frame. CU left seven on base and remained scoreless until the ninth inning where they scored their first run off a bases-loaded passed ball.

With just one out, DeJesus would clear the bases by homering over the right field wall in walk off fashion for the Ags' 5-2 victory. Oswaldo Godina earned the win after allowing just three Cardinal hits in 5.2 innings of work.

For the nightcap, William Jewell put up two runs in the first again, but Anthony Acevedo tied it up in the bottom with a two run blast to left field. His home run would be the Aggies only hit until the seventh inning as the Cards climbed to an 8-4 lead, with CU scoring two in the fourth on an error and passed ball.

A bases loaded walk in the seventh put CU within three, and Cole Williams tied it up at 8-all with a 3 run double. With two outs, Haydon Bogard plated the winning run on a single to left center.

Javarias Banks appeared in the seventh inning and allowed just one run and hit, then set down the next six batters in order for his first win of the season.

The Aggies are now 10-1 overall, and William Jewell is 0-3 after the sweep.
