WICHITA FALLS, Texas –
Abbey Warren was a perfect 4-4 with two RBI in the Aggie softball team's 4-0 win over Midwestern State on Friday evening.
Cameron moved to 23-7 overall this season with the win, and are now 11-2 in Lone Star Conference play, while MSU is now 12-17 and 3-10 in conference.
The Aggies scored back-to-back runs in the second and third innings to take an early 2-0 lead. Warren singled to leadoff the second inning, and then two batters later scored on a
Bethany Hines single to the shortstop. In the third,
Paige Daino drove in CU's second run on her seventh homer of the season.
Warren drove in her first RBI of the game in the top of the fifth on a single to left that scored
Breezy McComas. The Aggies capped off the game with their final run in the seventh, as Warren drove in McComas again on another RBI single.
In the circle, Hines recorded her Division II leading 17th win of the season, with her first complete game shutout of her CU career. She went all seven innings and gave up just five hits while striking out four batters.
Warren recorded her first four hit game of her career, as she was a perfect 4-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. McComas chipped in two hits and two runs scored, while Daino is now just homers away from tying the Cameron career record of 43.
The Aggies and Mustangs will meet again tomorrow as they play a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.Â
