CU volleyball prepares for rival Midwestern State

Around the LSC: The CU/MSU match will be the only Lone Star Conference match on Tuesday. Tarleton State tops league standings at 4-1 in the conference and 10-4 overall. Nationally speaking, Tarleton State moved up two spots and is now No. 15, while Angelo State dropped five spots to sit at No. 16 in the AVCA DII poll.
 
Looking Forward: Cameron will square off against their rivals across the Red River, Midwestern State, in search of their second conference victory in a row. The Aggies enter play 3-8 overall and 1-3 in the league, while the Mustangs are 7-5 and 2-2 in the LSC. Last weekend, MSU performed opposite of Cameron, defeating Eastern New Mexico but falling to Western New Mexico.
 
The Mustangs are third in the LSC in kills notching 12.86 per set while topping the league in prevention of kills (10.81 a set) and blocks (1.60 a set). They also lead in aces per set, with 1.86 per set led by Kristen Silva (.50 per set) just ahead of CU's Brittnee Altic (.46 per set). Addy Cook leads the MSU offense knocking down 2.88 kills per set compared to Aggie Paige Dixon's 3.31 per set. MSU has dual blockers in Adison Semer and Raven Presley who each have 39 blocks this season.

Looking Back: Cameron split their weekend matches falling 1-3 to Eastern New Mexico but nabbing their first league win of the season 3-1 versus Western New Mexico. Ashleigh McFatridge had a big weekend, notching seven kills in match one and 14 kills with no errors in match two. She hit .875 against WNMU boosting her to fifth in the LSC in hitting percentage.
 
Dixon totaled 28 kills between both matches, and Brandy Carr totaled ten blocks while matching Dixon for 15 kills against WNMU to lead the Aggies. Brook Conley achieved her fifth and sixth double-double of the year, recording 79 assists and 29 digs on the weekend. Altic totaled 33 digs and eight service aces.
 
Looking Ahead: The Aggies will remain at home for their next three matches with Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas Woman's and non-conference opponent East Central.
