LAWTON – The Cameron men's tennis team will debut their spring season with a trio of matches in Texas from Feb. 1-3.

The Aggies will begin play on Thursday in Plano, Texas where they will face No. 1 Tyler Junior College at 1 p.m. and the following day compete against No. 8 Collin College. They will wrap up the road trip at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Arlington, Texas with Division I UT Arlington.

Cameron has two singles players ranked in No. 37 Vinicius Santos and No. 41 Przemyslaw Zielinski.

During their fall season at the ITA regional, Zielinski fared best among the Aggies as he reached the semi-finals. Mateo Velasco and Julen Gutierrez both made it past the first two rounds of their respective matches. All Aggie doubles pairings fell in the opening round.

Presently, Cameron is No. 3 in the South Central Region behind No. 1 St. Mary's and No. 2 Midwestern State.

Cameron starts their season against No. 1 Tyler who boasts the No. 1 player in junior college play in freshman Marcus Walters advanced all the way to the second round of the ITA national championship in the fall.

He alongside teammate Jorge Martinez are also the No. 1 doubles pairing in the nation. Martinez is No. 2 nationally speaking in singles play. Tyler has three others ranked in the top-25 singles list and two additional doubles pairings in the top-25 as well.

Next on the Aggies' agenda is No. 8 Collin College who has two ranked singles players and one ranked doubles pairing. Akinori Wada highlights them with a No. 19 spot in singles play and is No. 9 in doubles with James Corns.

To conclude their road trip, CU will face UT Arlington who already began their season with a 6-1 loss to Harvard. No. 87 Guanarteme Nuez earned the lone UTA point in the No. 1 position by a final of 7-6, 6-3. Nuez and Mauricio Del Rio are No. 48 in Division I doubles play.
