PLANO, Texas – The Cameron men's tennis team opened up the 2018 spring season with a 9-0 loss to the No. 1 ranked junior college team, Tyler Junior College.
In doubles, the lone match that was close for CU was in the No. 1 spot, where the pairing of
Mateo Velasco and
Przemyslaw Zielinski took the top ranked JUCO doubles team to a tiebreak and lost 9-8. In no. 2 doubles, the Aggies fell 8-2 and in the no. 3 spot they lost 8-0.
In singles, Velasco lost 6-3, 6-1 to the top ranked JUCO singles player Marcus Walters and Zielinski lost 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot to TJC's Alex Parker. The Apaches controlled the rest of the singles matches from the start.
The Aggies will continue their three match road trip against Collin College on Friday, starting at 1 p.m.
