Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 EMPORIA, Kan. – The Aggie tennis teams got a pair of wins at Emporia State on Wednesday as the Cameron women won 8-1 and the men won 6-3.

Cameron's women's tennis team, who was recently ranked No. 25 by the ITA, started out their match with an early 2-1 lead as Sarah Frendo and Sara Petric won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles and Rebeka Velasova and Melany Opolz won by default.

In singles, CU automatically had two points already, as the No. 5 and 6 matches were won by default. The Aggies decided to make it a clean sweep in their singles matches as No. 31 Zhenia Shviadok, Mathilde Thibaudat, Frendo, and Opolz all won convincingly in two sets.

The Aggie men also started out their match 2-1 after doubles play, as Julen Gutierrez and Stefan Svicevic won 8-6 at No. 2 and Vinicius Santos and Luke Howard won at No. 3, 8-4.

Cameron then went on to win four of the six singles matches, starting with No. 34 Przemyslaw Zielinski winning 6-1, 7-6 at No. 1. Santos and Gutierrez both won their matches in straight sets at No. 2 and 3, while at No. 4, Mateo Velasco came back from a 6-0 first set to win the next two, 6-4 and 7-5.

Both of the Aggie tennis teams will visit Maryville, Mo. on Friday, March 23 to take on Northwest Missouri State; the matches are scheduled to start at noon.
