Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Cameron University women's tennis team took down Northwest Missouri State 5-3 on Saturday, while the CU men fell to the Bearcats 5-3.

In the women's match, the Aggies started out with a 2-1 lead as Zhenia Shviadok and Mathilde Thibaudat won their match 8-0 in at No. 1, while Melany Opolz and Rebeka Velasova won 8-3 at No. 3.

Cameron's only two singles' losses came at No. 1 and 2, with Sarah Frendo and Sara Petric winning in two sets and Opolz coming from behind to win her match at No. 4 in three sets.

The Aggie men also started their match with a 2-1 lead with Mateo Velasco and Przemyslaw Zielinski winning 8-4 at No. 1 and Stefan Svicevic and Julen Gutierrez taking down their opponents 9-7 at No. 2.

However, the singles portion of the match did not go in CU's favor. Gutierrez earned the only win for the Black and Gold with a three set win over NWMSU's No. 3 player. Zielinski also went to three sets, but fell at in the No. 1 match while Vinicius Santos, Velasco, and Julien Aubry-Damon all lost in two.

Cameron's tennis teams will finish off their weekend road trip to Missouri on Saturday, March 23, as they take on Drury in a pair of matches beginning at 1 p.m. The Panther men are ranked No. 9 in the ITA rankings, while their women's team is ranked No. 12.
