LAWTON, Okla. –The Aggie men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday, falling 6-3 to No. 13 Southwest Baptist and 5-4 to Metro State.

The Black and Gold started the day off against SBU at noon, and then due to forecasted rain, they rescheduled the match against Metro State, which was supposed to take place Sunday at noon, to begin at 8 p.m. Saturday night.

Cameron started off strong against the No. 13 ranked Southwest Baptist Bearcats. Mateo Velasco and Przemyslaw Zielinski won the No. 1 doubles match, 8-3, while Vinicius Santos and Julen Gutierrez won 9-8 in the two spot to give the Black and Gold the 2-1 lead.

The Aggies struggled in their singles matches against SBU, as Velasco was the only player to win their match as he took the No. 4 match, 7-5, 6-2. The Bearcats won the other five singles battles to earn the 6-3 victory.

In the night cap, CU began with a 2-1 lead again, as Velasco and Zielinski won 8-6 and Santos and Gutierrez won 8-4 in the one and two doubles matches.

Unfortunately in singles, Zielinski and Gutierrez would be the only Aggies to secure the wins, as the Roadrunners took the other four to win the match 5-4.

Cameron is now 3-4 on the young season. They will be back in action on Friday, March 9, when the travel to San Antonio, Texas to take on the St. Mary's Rattlers.
