LAWTON- The Cameron baseball team fell 10-6 to Tarleton State on Friday evening during the Aggie's first home night game under new stadium lights.
CU suffered early as TSU grabbed an 8-1 lead after plating six runs in the second inning. Three errors on the Aggie's line did not help matters either.
However, after scoring a run in the sixth, Cameron put together a seventh inning rally trying to chip down TSU's lead. The Aggies started the frame with four straight singles in what would be a five hit, four run inning closing the gap to a two run deficit, 8-6.
The Aggies kept the Texans scoreless from the third through seventh innings until TSU added some insurance runs in the eighth on a two run double.
CU ultimately fell short, not scoring again and leaving two runners on in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings.
Andrew Kralik,
Briton Schiewe and
Colton Adams each had two hit games; Adams also batted in two runs. Schiewe and
Luke Hughes crossed the plate twice themselves.
Andrew Garza (1-7) was the starter as he pitched 7.1 innings before reliever
Sean Maher threw the last 1.2 innings allowing one hit and walking one.
Cameron is 15-25, 5-12 LSC, and TSU is 30-15, 15-6 LSC.
