TEMPE, Ariz. – The Division II Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top-25 Rankings were released on Wednesday, and the Cameron men's tennis team has entered the rankings at No. 24.
In the initial rankings that were released on Jan. 16, the Aggie men were just outside of the rankings, but after going 3-2 to start the season against some tough teams, CU has jumped up to be ranked in the 24th spot.
Cameron opened the season with a 4-3 loss to now No. 22 Drury before beating Washburn, who at the time was No. 25, the next day 4-3. The Aggies also have wins over the No. 3 and No. 10 ranked teams in the NJCAA in Seward CC and Collin. CU's second loss of the season was to Division I UT Arlington.
The Aggie women entered the spring ranked No. 22 in the ITA top-25, but after a 0-5 start, have dropped out of the rankings. However, they are still receiving votes.
Next up, the Cameron men will take on the No. 1 ranked Tyler Junior College on Saturday, Feb. 23, before hosting No. 7 Cowley on Monday, Feb. 25.
Both the men and women teams will host St. Mary's on Friday, March 1, at 1 p.m.
