PLANO, Texas – The Cameron University men's tennis team fell 5-2 to the No. 1 ranked team in the NJCAA Tyler Junior College on Saturday.
 
The Aggies, who are ranked No. 24 by the ITA in Division II, started off the match up 1-0 after doubles play. Vinicius Santos and Julen Gutierrez earned a 6-4 win at No. 1, while Mritunjay Badola and Jesus Villamizar notched a 6-4 win at No. 3.
 
Despite the early lead, Cameron earned just one point in singles play. Santos recorded the lone singles play with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win at No. 1. Gutierrez also played to three sets at No. 4, but lost his match 7-6, 5-7, 10-8.
 
The Aggies are now 3-3 on the season and will have a quick turnaround as they host Cowley College on Monday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.  Cowley is the No. 7 ranked team in the NJCAA.
