PLANO, Texas – The Cameron men's tennis team was in Plano, Texas taking on Collin County College on Thursday afternoon and came away with their first 7-0 sweep of the season.

The Aggies opened up the season with 1-1 record last weekend, losing to Dury 4-3 before beating Washburn 4-3 the next day.

Cameron started out the match with the Cougars by winning the doubles matchup 2-1 to earn the point. At No. 1, the ranked pairing Vinicius Santos and Julen Gutierrez won 6-1 against their counterparts, while Mritunjay Badola and Przemyslaw Zielinski won 6-3 at No. 2 and Oscar del Granado and Pierre Marion won 7-5 in the third doubles match.

In singles, CU continued their dominance by winning all six matches in two sets. Santos and Marion both beat their opponents 6-2, 6-1, while del Granado won 6-1, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot and Jesus Villamizar won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6. Badola and Gutierrez were forced to battle a bit in both of their sets, but still won their matches 6-3, 7-5, and 6-4, 6-3 respectively.

Next up for the Aggies will be a matchup with Division I UT Arlington on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. before hosting Seward County CC the next day for their home opener.
