Miller hits two out, drives in four in 11-4 loss

SAN ANGELO, Texas – Myles Miller hit a pair of homers and drove in four runs in the Aggie baseball team's 11-4 series finale loss at No. 11 Angelo State on Sunday.

The Rams kicked the scoring off in the series finale with a pair of solo homers in the first and third innings.

Down 2-0 early, Cameron quickly erased that deficit with a two-run home run off the bat of Miller in the fourth. Dillon Turney, who walked earlier in the inning, came around to score on the two-out long ball by the senior Miller.

Angelo State quickly answered with a four run inning in the bottom of the frame to take a 6-2 lead.

Cameron's bullpen held ASU scoreless in the next three innings, but in the bottom of the eighth, the No. 11 Rams added five more to the scoreboard, giving them an 11-2 advantage.

Turney and Miller teamed up again in the top of the ninth to add two more runs for the Aggies. Turney singled to left field with one out and then Miller hammered his second long-ball of the day, cutting the deficit to 11-4.

Back-to-back singles by Hayden Jaco and Beau Williams put two runners on for Jordan Harrison-Dudley, who popped out to center field to end the game.

Cameron recorded six hits in the game, four of which came in the ninth inning alone. Turney went 2-3 with two runs scored, while Miller had a 2-4 day with two runs scored and four RBI.

On the mound, Cameron went with their usual starting catcher, Jaco, to start game four of the series. The senior from Coquitlam, British Colombia went 3.1 innings for CU, giving up five earned runs on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts.

Four other CU arms combined for the final 5.2 innings of work. The CU bullpen struck out two batters and gave up five earned runs on eight hits and four walks.

ASU's four-game sweep of the Aggies dropped CU's record to 15-22 overall and 6-6 in league play. They are now fourth in the conference standings, while the Rams remain in first with a 10-2 record.

Cameron will not be back in action until April 18-20, when the host Eastern New Mexico for a four-game home stretch. ENMU won two out of three against CU earlier this season.
